Mark Edwin Crandall

Mark Edwin Crandall passed away peacefully January 12, 2014 after a brief illness. Mark was a friend, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, and a father as well as a musician and construction worker. As a construction worker, Crandall may have remodeled your house or business, especially your tile and flooring.

Mark was an Ohio State University and TBDBITL alum, graduating in 1973. He attended schools in Chillicothe and Sandusky, graduating from Sandusky HS in 1969. Mark was a member of the Glen Echo Presbyterian Church, where he was active in the music program, singing and directing the bell choir. He enjoyed the outdoors - biking, hiking and canoeing. Mark had a great sense of humor and he loved his cats, particularly Kodiak and Pike.

Mark was born in Akron, OH, on March 7, 1951, to the late Don and Shirley Crandall. He lived in Cuyahoga Falls, Oak Ridge (Tennessee), Chillicothe, Sandusky, and moved to Columbus for college where he remained for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his son David Shane. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, David Crandall and Maureen O'Connell; sister, Susan Crandall; six nieces, two uncles, an aunt and many, many cousins.

A service in memory of his life will be held at Glen Echo Presbyterian Church, 220 Cliffside Drive, Columbus, OH 43202 on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 12 Noon. A reception will be held following the service at the Out-R-Inn to celebrate Mark. Internment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glen Echo Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.

Mark was a member of the marching band in 1971 and 1972 and played alto horn.
