Ralph Lawrence Intorcio

March 29, 1927 - June 29, 2012

Ralph Lawrence Intorcio, 85, died peacefully at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington early in the morning on Friday, June 29, 2012, after a 30 year battle with coronary heart disease.

He was born March 29, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Giuseppe and Reparata DeIanni Intorcio. He graduated from Wickliffe High School and attended Alleghany College and Ohio State University.

He served in the 24th Infantry Division of the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked many years as a Manufacturer's Representative for WMF Fraser and Bryce Crystal before serving as an Aide at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds, Massachusetts. After retirement, he lived for 15 years in Sarasota, Fla., before returning to Massachusetts to be near his son and family.

Ralph was a long-time member of Northampton's Young@Heart Chorus, entertaining audiences worldwide with his imitations of Carmen Miranda and Carol Channing. He was a long-time member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Northampton, where he sang in the choir, and later was a member of St. Boniface, in Sarasota, Florida and The Church of the Good Shepherd in Reading.

He is survived by his son, John and his wife Shawn Intorcio of North Reading; his grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Ralph Intorcio; and countless nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Ouida McCoy Intorcio, in 1978.
