David S. Metcalf Sr.

June 10, 1958 - April 16, 2011

David S. Metcalf Sr. 52, of Wintersville, Loving husband, dad and pap pap, died Saturday April 16, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born June 10, 1958 in Columbus, the son of Dr. John W. Metcalf, Jr. of Steubenville and Margaret Stewart Metcalf of Steubenville.

David, was a member of Findley United Methodist Church, was a born again christian, accepting Christ on April 25, 1978, He lived his life serving the Lord and was a Plumber and Pipe fitter for local 495.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Cheryl 'Cherie' Huggins Metcalf whom he married February 25, 1978; one son, David S. Metcalf, Jr. (Kristy) of Pittsburgh; four daughters; Janet Johnson (James Jr.) of Wintersville, Robin Zgurski (Stanley Zachery) of Venice, Fl., Erin Metcalf of Columbus and Amy Culp (Michael) of Circleville; two brothers, Dr. John W. Metcalf III (Judy) of Webb City, MO and Stephen C. Metcalf (Terry) of Herndon, Va.; one sister, Beverly S. Dyrdek (Robert) of Elizabeth City, Ky.; five grandchildren; Stanley Austin Zgurski, Adelyn Johnson, James Johnson III, Sydney Metcalf and Elaina Culp. David was a graduate of Steubenville High School, class of 1976 and was a member of the Marching band, he was a member of the Ohio Sate University Marching Band and loved his C.I.A. Sunday School Class.

Calling hours are Tuesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville and on Wednesday at Findley United Methodist Church from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am, Rev. Jerry Ernst, officiant. Burial in Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Findley United Methodist Church.

David was a member of the marching band in 1976.
