Michael Nash Trigg

September 8, 1935 - February 28, 2014

Michael Nash Trigg 78, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully February 28th at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Chester Speake Trigg and Helen Louise Trigg. He was the loving husband of Jackie, and proud and loving father of Tacy Brown and husband Bill, Tim Trigg and wife Beth, and Pam Chmiel and husband Richard. He was "Grandpa" to Brittany and Bailey Brown, Lynley Trigg, and Kiley, Ryan and Braden Chmiel, and brother to Jane Watson and husband Ian who reside in Kenora, Canada.

Mike graduated from Ohio State, a proud member of the Ohio State Marching Band, and the American Bankers Association-Business Banking School. He also attended the University of Dayton Business School where he participated in numerous conferences and educational seminars as both a speaker and a student. Mike's marketing career began with 3rd National Bank, leaving there as Executive VP Retail Affiliates Banking. He transferred to the home office of Society Corporation in Cleveland, in 1985, retiring from there as Executive VP Director of Sales and Service in 1991. During that period, the American Marketing Association of Chicago selected him as Marketing Executive of the Year in 1987. Retiring to Hilton Head, S.C. in 1992, he was an Independent Marketing Consultant to a diverse clientele that included Joy Radio Station, Society Corp., Liberty Savings Bank, the Cultural Council of Hilton Head, and the United Way of Beaufort County. He ultimately became the President of the Southern Region of Liberty Savings Bank and Chairman of their Board. Returning to Dayton in 2007, Mike had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for the last several years. His greatest pleasure was watching his OSU Buckeyes with his family and friends.

Caring arrangements are being made by Westbrock Funeral Home and a private burial is being planned. The family would also like to thank Dr. Alberto Espay, MD and the thoughtful staff of the Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Michael was a member of the marching band in 1953 and 1954, He was the Assistant Drum Major, marching in the 1955 Rose Bowl Parade.
