2017 TBDBITL Reunion Letter and Registration Form

Reunion is September 03, 2017 against the Bowling Green State University Falcons. Kickoff is TBA PM!

With a new group of Buckeyes and a rousing football season ahead, I hope that a record number of you will choose to visit Columbus in September and participate in our annual Reunion!

Three Script Ohios

We will conclude the halftime performance with four FULL 192-piece Script Ohio formations (1 OSUMB; 3 Alumni). To make this happen, we need to fill 576 Script positions by the June 28 registration deadline; otherwise, we will adjust the number/size of the Scripts to the number of people registered.

Seating for Marching Participants

If you register after the June 28 deadline, and our marching numbers exceed our seat allotment, you may be asked to sit inside the Band Center during 1st and 2nd quarter of the football game.

Registration

You will need your "TAG" to register online. If you want to register by phone, have any problems or questions, or do not know your TAG, please contact Greg Daniel at (740) 233-2220. You can pay by credit card or by check. If you have a question for Reunion Chair Sara Lawhon, please email reunion@tbdbitl.com.

Registration Dates

  • Wednesday, June 1: Registration opens.
  • Tuesday, June 28: Register by 11:59 PM EDT on June 28 for ticket and Script spot lotteries. I-dotters and Script drum majors will be selected from registrations in my hand 11:59 PM EDT, June 28. Registrations received after June 28 will have Script spot requests filled pending availability. **We will be unable to fulfill ticket requests after June 28.**
  • Friday, August 12: Last day for refunds of instrument fees and lunches.
  • Monday, August 29: Last day to register to play and march (Monday night rehearsal).

Game Tickets

You do NOT need a game ticket to march.

Pickup of game tickets is IN PERSON ONLY (tickets *will not* be mailed). Check the Official Schedule for pickup times at OSU prior to Reunion.

ALL TBDBITL Members are eligible to purchase game tickets! Up to 10 tickets may be purchased by registrants **before** the June 28th deadline. Should you need to purchase game tickets after June 28th, please order them directly from ticketmaster.com.

If you need tickets together with a friend, need handicapped seats (please specify “no stairs” or “wheelchair”) or have someone else picking up your tickets, you *must* select that information in when you order, prior to June 28th. If you purchase tickets from ticketmaster.com after June 28th, and still need handicapped seating, you will need to exchange the tickets directly with the OSU Ticket Office.

I will not know the exact location of the game tickets until August 26. Elevators will be available to our general ticket location.

Schedule of Events

Click here for a tentative schedule of events for the 48th Reunion. The schedule will not be “official” until times and locations are confirmed in late August. Events include:

    • Monday night rehearsal (Optional - music rehearsal only)

    • Friday rehearsal (Optional BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - music rehearsal only)
  • Saturday, September 03
    • Saturday rehearsal (Required to be in your seat at 6:00 AM (Assume Noon Kickoff))
    • "Lunch" (see below)
    • Skull Session
    • Football game

Pre-Rehearsal Family Fun Event

Bring the kids and spouse for some pre-rehearsal fun starting at 5:30pm before Friday's rehearsal.

Row/Section/Year Reunions

If your row, section, or year is planning a "sub-reunion" party/event, please email reunion@tbdbitl.com so that we may publicize the event.

Lunch

OSU can provide a box lunch for $10 that includes a deli sandwich, pasta salad, chips, fresh fruit, cookie and water. Sandwich choices for 2017 are:

  • Roast beef, with tomatoes, sweet onion jam and Boursin cheese on focaccia
  • Smoked turkey, with bacon, tomato, lettuce and herb aioli on wheat bread
  • Vegetarian "ZLT" Flatbread - grilled zucchini, tomatoes, jalapeno jack cheese and sundried tomato pesto

You can buy these for friends and family, too. Lunches can be picked up after Saturday morning practice (~9:00 AM) at Gate 25 of the Stadium. Remember to bring your lunch ticket to practice!

Uniform

Monday/Friday Rehearsal: Casual

Saturday: Band members - Red (scarlet) short-sleeved shirt, heather gray trousers, black belt, black shoes, black socks, scarlet ballcap. Drum majors – Red (scarlet) short-sleeved shirt, white slacks (NOT SHORTS), white shoes and white socks.

Shirts and ballcaps with the Alumni Band logo can be purchased through Oasis Embroidery. Click here to view the order form. Call (614-785-7266) or visit the store at 6663-R Huntley Road, Columbus OH. Orders can be shipped or picked up at Friday night rehearsal.

Oasis Embroidery will be selling TBDBITL Apparel at the rehearsal on Friday. Oasis will NOT be selling items on Saturday.

Other Vendors

Please email reunion@tbdbitl.com if you wish to have a booth at the Friday night rehearsal, so that a space will be reserved for you. You will need to bring your own tables this year.

Instruments

Please make every effort to bring your own instrument. Due to school already being in session, and demand for OSU instruments from the Fall Semester Athletic Bands, instrument availability is limited during both Monday/Friday rehearsals and actual Game Day (this is different from years past). If you need to borrow an instrument, please so indicate on your registration. Drummers are responsible for their own sticks and slings (contact Columbus Percussion at 614-885-7372). Sousaphone players should attempt to bring their own mouthpieces.

Parking

  • Monday, August 29
    • Practice – Parking around the stadium will be enforced by Campus Parc. Use the pay kiosk machines. You MUST CORRECTLY ENTER your license plate number in the kiosk machine for your payment to be valid.
  • Friday, September 02
    • Practice – We are negotiating parking around St. John Arena. Please check www.tbdbitl.com for information closer to Reunion.
  • Saturday, September 03
    • Practice and Game – Free parking available at any “PUBLIC” lot on the OSU campus. Click here to identify “PUBLIC” lots. Please identify yourself as a member of TBDBITL by leaving a legible note to this effect on your dashboard. If you arrive early, you may offload your instruments, etc., from the St. John Arena parking lot prior to parking your vehicle.

Lodging

You will be responsible for your own lodging arrangements/needs. If you need information regarding local lodging options, Greg Daniel at (740) 233-2220 can give you a list of hotels, but you will be responsible for making your own reservations.

Cancellations/Refunds

Instrument fees and lunches are refundable before August 12 for requests submitted via email. Tickets, dues, and registration fees will not be refunded. No refunds will be given for cancellations or no-shows.
