Darryll is survived by his wife, Martha, and their children, Rick (Laura), Emily (Bill) Snyder, Josh (Jessica) Porter, and Zachary (Tonna) Porter. He was the BEST grandpa, and was always a source of chocolate, pool time, special adventures, and other methods of corruption. He loved his grandchildren dearly and will be very missed by Jake (Hayley), Joshua, Lindsey, Callie, Gena, Lily, and Kadyn. Darryll proudly served his country as a United States Marine from 1970-1974. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Administration from Ohio State in 1976 and Master of Business Administration from the University of Toledo in 1982. He relocated to Southwest Florida in 1982, initially working in Human Resource Management, but later earning his Certified Financial Planner designation and building a financial advisory practice. He enjoyed working with his clients, many of whom he counted also as friends. His practice later expanded to include family mediations and he became a fervent advocate for peaceful and fair resolutions to family law cases.
One of the great passions of Darryll’s life was music, which defined and shaped his life. He played trumpet and flugelhorn and became a marching band fanatic during his days at Brookhaven High School (class of 1969). He was a musician in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud member of THE Ohio State University Marching Band (TBDBITL).
