Alice L. (Platte) Christie

July 1, 1941 - August 7, 2011

Alice L. (Platte) Christie, 70, of St. Augustine, Florida, died of cancer on August 7, 2011, at Moultrie Creek Nursing and Rehab Center.

Alice was born on July 1, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio, to Carroll and Rose (Szabo) Platte. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University and taught music for many years in Ohio public schools before retiring to St. Augustine with her mother. She played French horn in many concert bands and orchestras in Ohio and Florida. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Carroll G. Platt; mother, Rose (Szabo) Platte; and brother, Raymond J. Platte.

She is survived by her stepbrother, Robert Platte; nieces, Suzanne (Platte) Beaky and Amy (Platte) Wagner; nephews, Michael Platte and Rob Platte; sister-in-law, Wanda Platte; stepmother Sarah Platt; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be a private family memorial. Please make donations to St. Augustine Humane Society PO Box 133, St. Augustine, FL 32085; in lieu of flowers.

Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of the arrangements.

Alice was a member of the marching band in 1959 and served as librarian.
