William Howard Gillespie

December 1, 1924 - December 24, 2007

William H. Gillespie, Jr, 83, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve surrounded by family members.

William was born on December 1, 1924, in Middletown, Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1946, was an enthusiastic member of TBDBITL Alumni Band for many years, traveling with the HyperBand on several road trips, and an avid Buckeye fan.

William was dedicated to his work as a CPA and was a dear friend to his many clients.

As a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church, William served as treasurer for many years.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Georgia, he is survived by his six children, Linda (Jeff) Waggoner, Middletown; William (Jackie Rauch) Gillespie III, Centerville; Pamela (Bob) Bowers, Columbus; Nancy (Rex) Winter, Minneapolis; Mary (Jim) Bandeen, Dublin; and Timothy (Julie) Gillespie, Xenia; eight grandchildren, Alicia (Chris) Cerrito, William Gillespie IV, Marissa Gillespie, Bethany and Jillian Bowers, Brandon and Kelsey Winter, and Stephanie Waggoner, and two great-grandchildren, Addy and Mariella Cerrito.

A private service will be held for family members. Donations in William's memory may be made to The TBDBITL Alumni Club (1165 Middleport Drive, Columbus, OH 43235) or Christ United Methodist Church (3440 Shroyer Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429). Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Bill was a member of the marching band from 1944 through 1947. He played Cymbals.
