Beverley Harris Moseley

Beverley Harris Moseley, age 84, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011. He was born in Columbus on December 15, 1926, to the late Beverley Harris and Truey Jeanette Moseley, and he was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School. Bev graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from The Ohio State University. In 1946, he served as the Drum Major for The Ohio State University Marching Band, and continued in the Alumni Band after college. Bev worked as a graphic designer in the art department of WBNS 10TV. He was known as "Mr. Ohio History," and he made museum exhibits for the Ohio Historical Society. He also worked with his brother to found the Midwestern Epigraphic Society, and many knew him as a "walking encyclopedia."
Bev is survived by his wife of 17 years, Karen Sue Moseley; children, Onalee (Richard) Nathan, Toni Hodges, Laurie (Rick) Hinshaw, Victor Harris Moseley, and Rachel Madison Moseley; daughter-in-law, Donna Moseley; nieces and nephews, including Kurt Lowry; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Moseley; son, David Harris Moseley; and siblings, Victor Conway Moseley, Annette Moseley Lowry, and Sharon Moseley.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm on Thursday. Kurt Lowry officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Bev was a member of the marching band in 1946 through 1949 and served as drum major in 1946. He was the recipient of the "Elvin Donaldson Most Inspirational Alumni Band Member" award in 1977 and the "Script Ohio" award in 1984.
