Stanley Edward Hindmarch

July 12, 1937 - March 9, 2009

Stanley E. Hindmarch, 71, of Covington, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009, in the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy after a brief illness.

He was born July 12, 1937, in East Liverpool to the late Oliver and Florence (Kocher) Hindmarch.

He was a graduate of The Ohio State University obtaining a bachelor's degree in music education and a bachelor's degree in music performance. He was a member of the The Ohio State Marching Band and several instrumental groups associated with the School of Music. Stanley taught instrumental music in public schools for 20 years followed by 26 years as a driver for Active Transport. He played in various area dance bands, musical groups, most noteably The Piqua Civic Band. During his retirement it was his honor to play taps at funerals for our deceased veterans with the Elite Tribute Squad.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Barbara (Domski) Hindmarch of Covington; daughters and son-in-law, Laura Stivers of Shaker Heights; Mary Zamudio of Sidney; Margaret and Tom Brady of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, Sarah Stivers, Leah Stivers, Gabrielle Zamudio, Elizabeth Brady, Anne Brady, Maria Brady.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Amanda Zamudio; and a sister, Donna Hindmarch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in the St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. James Simons officiating. Interment will follow in the Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.

Calling hours for friends and family to gather will be from 5 - 8 pm Thursday in the Pearson-Jackson Funeral Home, Covington.

Contributions can be made in his memory to the St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, Covington.

Stanley was a member of the marching band from 1955 through 1961 and played trumpet.
